Ah yes, hyper intelligent apes. Or militarized? It's been a long time since I read this book.
I will say it was a favorite of mine back in the day.
In an embarrassing array of disclosure, my English professor started talking about guerrilla warfare in class and I brought up this book about super intelligent gorillas. My small town (read: backwoods and backwards) self was sooooooo embarrassed when I realized that she was talking about guerrillas, not gorillas.
*sigh* I learned a lot that day. Mostly that you can't bring up popular fiction in class. And about homophones.
