i’m honestly so disappointed by this, especially because i’ve liked harrow’s books before. i couldn’t stand both opal and arthur, the romance felt incredibly out of place in the context of the story and absolutely nothing, NOTHING happened from like 200 pages,,,, i usually appreciate slower books that aren’t action packed but this???? no plot, just vibes (derogatory!!!!). the book tries to touch upon several sensitive matters but fails to explore them in a way that feels significant , and i don’t understand why this was marked as a “gothic” fantasy because I can guarantee you it’s waaay closer to a poorly executed YA romance
