Amazing Spider-Man by Nick Spencer Vol. 5: Behind the Scenes by

3.0

This is mostly just getting a 3 stars because I love the character of Spider-Man. With that though, I agree with most of the reviews here with saying that narrative is a mess.

Spoiler The main antagonists are meant to be the new all female sinister syndicate, but all of the characters in it are treated so shallowly. Their Headquarters is described in a way that seems like more of mockery of new "non-traditional" office spaces, which immediately frames this as a group not to be taken seriously.

There's also so many possible new plot points jammed into this one volume, that it makes it hard to care about any of them.

I'm definitely still going to continue with the series in the hopes of some of these loose ends being tied, but this was not a strong addition to the series.
