klarafied 's review for:
Hollow City
by Ransom Riggs
I liked this book a lot better than it's predecessor. Miss Peregrine's was a great intro into a fascinating world, but Jacob's objective was rather fuzzy so I never really knew where the story was headed. Hollow City is much more focused. My main criticism is of the protagonist--for a novel written in first person Jacob seems to be much more of a bystander. With a few key exceptions of course. But he took far too long to come into his own, and when he finally did, the book ended with a frustrating cliffhanger. Now to wait another 2-3 years to continue the story...
