Secrets of Isoria by Cristina Macari

If you’re looking for an easy YA fantasy, you might enjoy this book more than I did. I don’t know if I love or hate it tbh. I love the magical elements which has a HP/Divergent/Shadow hunter vibe. I hate how fast paced it is and that the world building component is lacking.

What further irked me was there were instances that didn’t need further explanation. Eg I’d rather have a backstory of the magical wars than an explanation of the currency used.

Overall, the book has a lot of potential (fantasy wise) but it felt like I was reading a draft version of the real deal. Didn’t help that the last 30% was predictable and I scanned through it
