I found having two characters with the same name confusing at times. It was sometimes also disorienting when the story would flip between the past and the current time, especially as the chapters were not always equally matched in length and it would flip back and forth quicker than expected at times, before I’d had a chance to get my head into whether we were in the past or the current time.

< I was disappointed when after getting a fair way through the book, the little boy turned out to be her grandson and not her son - it felt a little misleading. From about the point in the book Lisa’s mother passed away, the story was no longer flowing easily for me - there was too much going on and I felt less invested in the story, and the going back and forth in time really became confusing.>

I did enjoy the majority of the book, but not so much the last quarter of the book.
