This book was not what I expected but exactly what I needed. The story starts off with the death of a very sweet kitty (which based on the title is not a spoiler!). Throughout the story there are glimpses of time passing through generations which was very fun and felt well researched. While the story has some heavy moments there were also moments of joy and love and levity.
