The long awaited book of HENRY TURNER! YESSSSSS! Henry has been a fan favorite within this series, and getting to read his story was one I was really excited about! Henry has always been the quiet, artistic, and kind friend within the friend group, and seeing him in center stage was a different experience. Henry was now the captain of the Maple Hills Hockey team, and with it came more responsibilities and taking charge of the team. On top of hockey, trying to balance school ended up becoming a difficult task for Henry especially with one of his classes being hard. A new character entered the scene and her name was, Halle, a sweet, fellow bookworm who loved to read just like the rest of us! Halle knew all about books and with aspirations of becoming an author one day, she was well versed in writing so it ended working out perfectly when Henry needed help. Hannah Grace wrote a heartwarming romance with amazing characters from a bookish girlie to a young man trying to navigate all the responsibilities stacked in his life. Suffice it to say, this was a book I had been highly anticipating for quite some time.
I was feeling a bit in a reading slump before this book, and having read this book it gave me the serotonin I needed to feel happy and excited reading a book! (Sigh) within the first couple chapters, I already fell in love with this book! Henry and Halle were really sweet together. I loved seeing the friendship evolve between Henry and Halle and how they just naturally clicked from the very moment they met. Halle wasn’t use to having many friends, but once she started branching out and exploring new ways to connect with her new friends (including Henry) I feel like she gained a new sense of belonging that she never had before. Henry played a big role in lending a helping hand in Halle’s confidence and making sure she always knew that she had a friend in Henry as well as the rest of the friend group. The found family was once again present from the beginning from seeing Aurora, Russ, Nathan, Anastasia, and others. I really felt immersed within this book which just reminded how much I love this series and how much of an amazing author Hannah Grace is!
Henry Turner was the man of the hour, and my goodness he met my expectations and more! Henry has always been that character that we wanted to see more of, and this book gave exactly that. Henry was a quiet yet artistic guy as well as straightforward and charming. I really loved getting to dig deep in Henry’s story and seeing his growth over the course of this book. Not to mention, the thoughtful and sweet ways Henry said and did when it came to Halle! I mean, come on, when a man spontaneously wants to take you on multiple dates and makes a huge effort to show how much he wants you to experience a variety of things as well as make you happy, you can’t go wrong! Henry really was thoughtful and it just made me swoon at how he was with Halle.
Halle was a sweetheart and I loved her! The fact that Halle was a fellow bookish girlie made me so happy but also she was relatable. The thing that really stood out to me about Halle was the way she initially felt especially when she was with her ex boyfriend. Halle was always lend to believe certain things about herself such as, setting her entire schedule and essentially her responsibilities around her ex’s hockey schedule and trying to also help parent her siblings. Halle was definitely dealing with being the eldest sister and helping her sister (stepsister), and I could definitely relate to that. As an older sister, I’m often used to being like another extension as being a parent to my younger sibling so it was no surprise to me to see how Halle felt whenever her mom or others just assumed she’d take over the responsibilities even when she was already busy with the other million things she had to do. I admired the way Halle later learned how to put herself forward and tried less to be a people pleaser which she sometimes couldn’t help, but she made strides little by little. I felt a kinship with Halle and felt protective over her as I’m sure Henry did as well. Nobody mess with my girl, Halle! Must be protected at all costs!
HANNAH GRACE KNOWS WHATS UP! Once again, Hannah Grace wrote such a heartwarming, loving romance with amazing characters, humor, deep emotional connections, and more. Halle and Henry’s romance was utterly brilliant, and their relationship flowed naturally from beginning to end. I loved how Halle and Henry’s chemistry was electric, sweet, and lovely. I genuinely felt so happy and fully invested throughout the whole book. You can never go wrong with reading a book by Hannah Grace and she definitely delivered a fantastic story about Halle and Henry. Henry has been a character who we all have been eagerly waiting to read more about, and getting to see all the ways he was, more of his backstory, and how he was with Halle was honestly perfect. I was swooning, smiling, and having the best time reading about Halle and Henry. The found family in this book was amazing, and I loved seeing how everyone embraced Halle as one of their own. Halle and Henry’s character growth over the course of this book was equally great, and by the end, they became better through their relationship and working on themselves. I’m interested to see who the next book will be on, but regardless I would highly recommend you read this book! Henry and Halle exceeded my expectations and it was everything!
