The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

3.0

Compelling read and original premise! I loved the multiple layers of mysteries and the unique way it had to be solved. So many questions left unanswered at the end. I wanted more. I think I have to minus one star for thinking, “wait, that’s the end? But what about this thing and this other thing and this thing over here? And why don’t we ever get an explanation about this?” And I really dislike when the perpetrators explains themselves clearly and efficiently and fills certain plot holes. That’s how several things were explained in the book, which is eye-rolling, but at the end I wished we could at least get that courtesy on some of the hanging questions.

Minus one extra star for the squirmy sections when he utterly shames the third host for his body and just freaking will not let up on that. That was gross.
