Based on my review, you're going to go 'why is it a 4.5?? It seems like you didn't like it at all!' But I did!! The overall story, characters, growth, and representation is SO GOOD in this book! There are just some writing frustrations I have. A character in a sarai? A character in a wheelchair? So many different races and cultures represented? Characters learning how to communicate and be honest without having to worry about a blow up reaction? LOVE IT, GIVE ME MORE.
I wish the heist was a little more...heisty? Tense? Both times it felt fairly easy and I think I was hoping/looking for the same feel/complexity as Six of Crows.
Lorcan is such a lil Tamlin and I hate him.
I didn't like how Kierse's struggle between Lorcan & Graves was more of a flip-flop than actual struggle. I think the author was trying to describe her pull to Lorcan as unavoidable, but it just read as girl couldn't make up her mind to me. She knew what she was doing but there was always that little comment that said part of her wanted it. #teamGraves
