Fallout by Ellen Hopkins

3.0

I read Fallout after reading Crank and Glass. I loved the first two... Fallout was not a great in my opinion. I know the point of view is from Kristina's three oldest children, but it was hard to really get into this one. Summer and Autumn seemed so similar it was hard to tell their voices apart. Hunter's storyline was interesting, but the constant loving his girlfriend, cheating on his girlfriend, trying to get her back was a bit old.

I wish there was more about how these three got to where they are. Autumn dealt with OCD, but it wasn't mentioned enough to be a true part of her narrative. Summer bounced through foster homes, but we only saw a glimmer of that.

I don't know how much of this is true and how much was fictionalized, but Kristina ignoring her children for guys was heartbreaking. The ending seemed a bit too happy with a lot of things unresolved. I know it was because it was ongoing (and these characters were older versions of the actual people so the storylines didn't actually happen that way) but I feel like they could have had different paths or been more different.
