Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair
by Pablo Neruda
god, how hard it is sometimes to separate the art from its authors.
have to admit that i was simultaneously charmed by this volume of poetry and yet the metaphorical objectification of women in this collection made me quite uneasy, which is why i buried myself in the internet and having discovered that neruda was a rapist, i removed my rating. beautiful words cannot replace the justice his victim never received.
