Too long and over-wrought. Could do with 100 pages less filler between the interesting bits. Our hero and/or the angels are frankly the least interesting characters in the story; they have no personality. So we have brief moments with intriguing characters who then disappear for a long time while we're stuck with that. Didn't buy the juvenile motivation of the traitor, didn't care whether our hero lived or died. Some nice ideas about the magic of London but even that feels utterly over-done in literature so didn't really move me. Wouldn't read again.
