I LOVE THIS. I was hooked from the first line.
Nyra is the princess on the run. I admire how she fought back and gave as much as she got, she was feisty and so struggling to survive. Dacre, the General of Resistance's son. He was absolutely smooth and swoon-worthy, but he was also the very definition of the morally grey MMC. He is arrogant, confident, and strong.
They had amazing banter between them. From the beginning, you could sense a sexual tension between them.
My only complaint was that I wanted more backstories about the characters and their grief, more world building, and more complexity overall. However, this was an amazing first installment, the ending left me stunned, and I can't wait to read the next one.
