I am on a reading roll- one good book after another. This book was so intense, I pretty much have read non-stop since starting yesterday afternoon. I've done nothing but read all day today. Fabulous. Heart-wrenching. Two girls- one a pilot, one a spy crash in Nazi occupied France. The first half of the book is the captured spy's account of her torture (toned down for the young adult reader but enough to get the point across) and the second half is of the pilot, hiding with the Resistance. Their two perspectives about the war and their friendship were difficult to read at times. The end broke my heart but also showed a softer side of some pretty bad people. Great WW2 book- not typical at all. A definite MUST READ!!!!
