The Portrait of a Lady (Barnes & Noble Classics Series) by Henry James

James's prose takes some getting used to, but I really love his observations of Americans abroad mixed with the unfolding psychological drama of his narratives. I preferred this to most of his other works, but have a special spot for Washington Square.
