I can see why fans of this book did not enjoy The Guest. I actually liked The Guest more. This one felt like it was torn between trying to be edgy + listless and being story driven. The characters outside of the main character felt surface-level for the most part. I didn’t feel like all the loose ends were tied up at the end.
