I enjoyed Book 1 but it had moments that I really disliked. But I enjoyed Book 2 much more! There was nothing that made me want to flip a table so that's always a plus, lol
This was a HEFTY length though. At 626 pages, I wasn't necessarily bored, but this was a VERY slow climb. Things happen and then it feels like a whole lot of nothing happens... for a very long time. This book also felt like one long scavenger hunt. In order to do this, you need to get this, but in order to get this, you need to get this other thing and this other other thing, by doing this OTHER thing. I was getting a little exhausted by the constant searching.
Feyre felt more real, more layered and interesting this time around. Not the annoying brat from the first book. I enjoyed that the ending of the first book didn't mean a happy existence for her in the second book. It was really refreshing to read.
There's LOADS of flirting, though it's pretty mega light on the amount of spice, which I was actually pleasantly surprised by. The spice that was there was pretty A++ though so I ain't mad 😛
I need a nice long break from this series after this, whew, but I'm looking forward to the next one. It's only... 703 pages.... ☠️☠️☠️
I never in a million years thought I could be Team Rhysand but here we are, aha. I loved that the romance between them wasn't rushed, and that her internal struggles with leaving Tamlin felt justified. It made the relationship between her and Rhysand feel a lot more genuine. I loved the magical note passing and the way they exchanged secrets/thoughts with each other. Too cute.
I enjoyed the ending too. It reminded me of another book but uhhh spoilers. I like that she sacrificed herself and went back with Tamlin to save everyone else. Yesss b, steal all their secrets!!!
