The Diary of Frida Kahlo: An Intimate Self-Portrait by Carlos Fuentes, Sarah M. Lowe, Frida Kahlo

5.0

The only really negative point about this book, is the introduction which is very long and if I'm honest rather boring.
It's also a shame that the translation is at the very end of the book, making reading it not the most practical thing but I loved it very very much nevermind. Not only for the stunning drawings, amazing poetry and touching letters in it, but because it helped me to understand Frida, the artist, the woman, the wife on a whole new level. Her writing made me tear up several times and something about the her diary really touched my soul. I knew how inspiring and strong Frida was, I never knew how sensitive and loving she had been too.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes her work and or is interested in her story. It is worth every pound.
