I really love this series and it was fun to revisit so many of the characters. This story is a little different from the previous stories…a bit more about the romance story than the crime story. However the writing is so well done, and the twists in the story are so great I was feeling the tension. That’s not to say there isn’t action because there is and there’s definitely a villain to spend a lot of time hating.
So while the friends to lovers story takes center stage this book still gives us just what we’ve always come to expect from Calmes in this series. Unfortunately now I have a long wait until the next book. (And can I say I hope that Rodriguez gets a rehabilitation story!)
