Thank you to Netgalley and Jodi McAlister for providing me with this arc.

An Academic Affair is a cute enemies to lovers read. Sadie Shaw and Jonah Fisher have been in an academic rivalry since their freshman year of college. There have been a series of agreed upon and shortly broken truces, but the sixth cease fire proves to be the most important. When they both apply for a job position at university, Sadie realizes its partner for hire. So all they have to do is get married, make it past their probation period and then divorce. Easy right? Tensions rise threatening the security of their positions

I really did enjoy this read! At first, I was hesitant because of just how much they argued (I realize this is enemies to lovers), but I quickly loved the banter. Sadie and Jonah functioned so much better as a unit rather than competing. I really liked seeing them grow and work together.

I did appreciate learning more about the side characters. Fiona was my favorite, I really hope she gets her own book and we see her development. Same with Chessie. I’m not sure if I agreed with how things were resolved with these characters and I definitely have questions about what next with them. The ending seemed a bit abrupt and I would’ve liked more to it but overall a good read
