Bree Porter surprises me every time with a book that captures my mind. I have enjoyed every book she has published and each one has a special place in my heart. I don't remember how I discovered her books last year but I'm so glad I did.

Isabella is a strong woman with a sad past who adapted to the role of mother very quickly. The relationship she has with Marzia is so adorable ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿฅบ

Giovanni is very grumpy, he doesn't trust anyone, he remains cold almost throughout the book, but his soft side shows in the way he behaves with his daughter.

His relationship with Isabella was difficult to develop due to the lack of trust, but the tension between them is present from the first chapters.

The book ends with a cliffhanger that leaves you surprised. Right from the beginning of the last chapter I made the connection and it felt so good to see that I was right.

So if you like books with mafia tropes especially with a mega slow burn then this book is for you. Bree Porter will not let you down!
