Really good throughout, well-plotted with vivid prose and believable characters. My main gripe is that there's something missing in the supernatural elements; hard to explain but the tone (realistic, down to earth) kind of remains exactly the same when the supernatural is happening. It feels like there should be a transition or a change of tone that's just absent. I wish I could explain better but that's probably what stopped this from being a 5 star. Great plot, great prose, slightly-off tone.
