Chronicle of a Death Foretold
by Gabriel García Márquez
Maybe because it was so short, I didn't have the time to wrap up in it and just fall in love like I did with One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera -- hence the four stars instead of five. On the other hand, this novel accomplishes everything that his longer works do, and I felt immensely satisfied when I read the final page. Marquez is a pure, literary genius.
