Don't Be Cruel: 2-in-1 Edition, Vol. 2 by Yonezou Nekota

3.0

It took me a lot longer to read this book than I originally thought it would take. I'm not completely invested in this story. If it wasn't for the fact that I bought the entire series, I probably would have stopped at the last book, but knowing that I spent over £100 to get all the books has me thinking that at the very least, I need to read them once. I can unhaul them after that if I want to.

I don't remember much from the first half of the story that I read in January. I didn't feel like I needed to reread the beginning of the book to get the rest of the story. I was surprised to see how the story developed though. I was expecting the main couple to go through more trouble, especially when graduating high school to university and getting into college. I feel like this manga either skipped over that or all of the problems happened in the previous volume and I've just forgotten because it's been two months and two colds since then.

The only thing truly keeping me going in this series (other than the potential to lose the money I invested into the series), is the main couple. I like them enough to continue onwards. They had the most unhealthiest of starts, but they have developed into a cute couple that communicates.

I would be lying if I said that I'm looking forward to the next volume, but I am intrigued to see where the story will go. If this story wasn't in manga format, I wouldn't like it though. Being able to quickly read this book is another reason why I like the series enough to continue. If it was a novel, I probably would have DNFed the book.
