I’m a sucker for epistolary books in general, but this takes the cake. Or donut. Or pie.
Incorporating just enough actual history, and a few choice conspiracy theories, makes The Secret History an eerie and deeply engrossing read. I would absolutely recommend this book to other fans of deep universe building, epistolary novels, history, and conspiracy theories.
David Lynch fans, beware: THIS IS NOT LYNCH’S TWIN PEAKS. Frost’s masterful storytelling expands the universe of Twin Peaks beyond the quirkiness most identified with the original two seasons of the television program, and grounds it in a realm of science-fiction that one can almost accept as scientific fact. If you prefer to remain blissfully slumbering in a Lynchian dream (or nightmare), this book is NOT for you.
