When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker
2.25
emotional tense slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

The world this story creates had a lot of potential. The dragons, interesting moons, and weird telepathic magic. I found myself bored…often. Perhaps it was too many overly descriptive scenes, or overuse of unnecessary adjectives. I wanted to care about our emotional but incredibly talented assassin who’s completely lost her memory, but nothing really happened. Her main man was a whole lot of broody grumpy heart of gold, but he seemed kind of dumb? I mean, your old girl’s lost all of her memories and is a different person now. Maybe try and accept that? No? Okay…

It was really long for nothing to really happen. I liked a few of the escape scenes at the beginning, and some mildly interesting plot stuff happens at the very end. I was uninterested frequently, it’s too bad because I had high hopes. This one wasn’t for me.
