Perhaps I'll need to come back to this one at a different time. I have owned this book for about 6 years and felt like this was the time to read it as I am currently really enjoying books from/about the Windrush era.
It's also only 130 or so pages but I just COULDN'T get into it. I loved the idea of these different lives coming and going through Waterloo station but I'm also exhausted from school at the moment and in the run up to half term, I don't have it in me to break down the language style in which it's written, which is a shame because it actually makes it feel authentic , as though I'm actually being told this story by someone from the West Indies / Caribbean, accent and all!
Really hoping I'm able to come back to this one at some point because I get the impression it is actually a stunning read but my mouldy yogurt brain just cannot soak it in in the way it deserves to be enjoyed.
