Fate Hollow Academy: Term 1 by Lyra Winters

4.0

I must say I love the cover of this book, and I also love the maps in the books.

Wren is affectionally known as Kit for her shifter fox form. She is an expert in potions and herbal medicine. She finds her fated mates, but of course, it is the one person in the village she wants nothing to do with the alpha's son. She is strong even though she has been through a lot. I like her Fae Ice Prince better, even though he is just a friend. So, they mutually reject the bond.

She is going to Fate Hollow Academy as well. I love that she is strong, heroine-like, and bright for the most part. She might be a little jaded about Thorn, the ice fae Prince.

There is a large cast of characters at the academy, but Damien and Thorne stand out so far. These characters seem to border on the lonesome, morally grey, and just insane, with all of them being very overprotective.

Wren has some daddy issues, and it comes out in unexpected ways. Also, the author drags this fated mate's rejection for all it is worth. This book gets steamy, and the demon is the first to advance his relationship with Miss Innocent. However, the teacher and headmaster of the school seem to be not immune to her charms, and it is a little weird. I didn't expect that to be her next mate talk about the age gap and interspecies.

The author also brings elemental magic into the steamy scenes, so although it is a new adult read, it is a little smutty.

The ending of this book has the reverse harem and more fated mates interspecies, but she is so fragile and needy that I wasn't thrilled with this story. I won't read any further in this series.
