Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum
4.0

A four and a half really, and only because it was a little slow and long in parts. I didn't particularly warm to any of the characters, or even really sympathise with Anna during any of her suffering with the nazi officer, it was just presented as matter of fact acts of survival, I like to think that this is how the author intended it, this is how Anna coped with it, no feelings involved. I was more affected by the evidence that she was never accepted into her post-war home in America. I'm glad Trudy got her answers, even though she didn't learn the truth from her mother, I wonder if knowing who her father was changes anything for Trudy and whether her and Anna ever talk about it. Never have I wondered more about characters and what happens to them afterwards, I guess I did warm to them after all.
