Sadie by Courtney Summers

Stop! If you are thinking about reading this book- GO GET THE AUDIOBOOK. The audiobook made this an entirely different experience in the best possible way. It makes the book feel even more 3-D and real, only elevates the story for sure.

The book handles some pretty rough topics- so check trigger warnings before picking it up!

To be able to handle some of the most gruesome moments of life- and avoiding sensationalizing, or downplaying those moments is a feat not many can claim to have done but Summers definitely can. Summers focused on the victims, who they are as people. How they feel, think, how they're coping- instead of making you slog your way through 20 pages of abuse and tramua. And i enjoyed that deeply.

Sadie is a girl I've met before. I think Sadie is a girl who most of us have met before, or at the very least seen at school. Been aware of. And my heart aches for her.

Summers writes so masterfully it was hard to remember at the end- none of it was real! (but it was to me)
