Want Me: A Sex Writer's Journey into the Heart of Desire by Tracy Clark-Flory

reflective slow-paced

3.0

This book is listed as a memoir, but it doesn’t feel right to call it that. The author tends to tell a story, then analyze the experience with feminist theory. The placement of quotes is jarring.
Although I was /am resistant to the addition of academic content dropped into a memoir, the quotes are so good. I found myself highlighting and sharing the best ones for friends.
The irony is that my favorite part of the book was the last 100 pages—when she had married a man and lived a much less adventurous sexual lifestyle! Her love for her husband oozes off the page.
I guess what I’m saying here is the editor did a poor job…
