Running with the Alpha's Son by Penny Jessup

2.0

Overall the series declines in quality with each book. The third installment of this series felt more like a filler novel than anything substantial even though big storylines were introduced. Things were quickly brushed over and many plot points felt very half finished.

Aside from finding Max even more insufferable this book I felt like his character just had no idea what was going on a lot of the time and he didn't feel like the same person who had lived through the first two books, things we already knew had to be reestablished multiple times. Max was incredibly selfish in this book compared to the previous two, and seemed as if he was constantly judging others-- mostly his literal mate meanwhile he was the worst of them all.

The writing could still use a little work, a lot of words wasted on reiterating things we learned in the previous books while neglecting to give detail on things happening in this book.

This book, like the previous two, ended on another cliffhanger and personally I don't like when every book in a series does that. Comes across too formulaic in a way. I unfortunately suffer from the need to know how series ends so I will likely read the books following this one when they release.
