Just finished this crazy ass long book. I’m still contemplating whether or not to give it 4 stars. I really feel it sits less than that, but here are my thoughts.

The first 200-300 pages were slow as molasses. It drove me nuts, but I could feel it picking up momentum, so I stuck with it. I enjoyed it for the rest of the book.

I honestly didn’t see the ending coming at all. I knew something was going to happen, but without giving away any spoilers, who was behind all of the mayhem did surprise me.

So what saved this book for me was the last 400 pages.

Overall I thought it was too long and had too many tangents explaining shit. I get that world building is critical in a book of this nature, but this was about 200 pages too long. I think the story could have been much more punchy, and had less boring parts if it was condensed down.

But other than that I enjoyed it and will continue on the series because you just know that ending was far too easy for Bryce and Hunt.
