Love the ending but it’s hard to see the darkness come over Narnia in the early chapters. The allegories and parallels are more evident here even than in the other Narnia books. Also some of the stereotypes Lewis drew upon (specifically for the Calormenes) haven’t aged well…I think he was trying to paint them as the peril of what happens from NOT following Aslan but unfortunately the imagery can send a different message these days.
Still a good read and a great series overall.
