About Last Knight
by Michaela Cole
Ryne is the grumpy, dark guy on the soccer team, so afraid to feel he cuts himself off from everyone but his 3 buddies. He has plans to be a soccer pro, like his Dad, but questions if it’s what he wants of just what’s expected of him.
Dacen has one more year of school, then doesn’t have a clue what to do. His anxiety is controlled by being organized, but he hides when he’s panicky.
When they meet in summer, the sparks are instantaneous, but things fall apart due to a misunderstanding. At school, Ryne puts a facade of hatred on, but their draw to each other is too strong.
Dacen is patient, but Ryne fights hard to say they’re not dating and in a relationship. Until he goes too far and realizes what he’s lost. He figures out how to fix it and they can finally admit their feelings for each other.
A well written book that builds the characters and their relationships so that it’s not boring, but a gradual progression to a happy ending.
