Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People about Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge
5.0
Shocking, educational, angering.
Loved this book as the first in a Black education journey. The fact that it was all about Black British is why I chose it. Even though it's 3 years on since it's release, I learnt so much.
I had to listen (I read and listened to the audio book at the same time) to it in sections, as it was quite overwhelming at first, so this allowed me to process emotionally and absorb the facts better.
I liked the ending explaining performative social justice and the difference between people that actually care and those that are doing it because of their own guilt. The end is a call to arms, now you possess a broad view of information on British racism and all it's intersections. If you don't get angry at the injustice plainly shown to you in this book then I don't know what to say.
