Sing, Unburied, Sing
by Jesmyn Ward
"you got to have a reason to live and you got to have a reason to die."
I've only read Ward's memoir, this is my first fiction work. I adored the atmosphere she created, its set during the summer and you can feel the heat and sweat they are experiencing. I felt for Jojo, having to be both a sibling, parent and grandchild. I also loved the magical realism aspect. Overall very good.
