It took me a month to listen to this story on audiobook. I just didn't want to listen to it most days. It's slow, sad, and focuses entirely too much on Cricket, who I wanted to say grow up to more than once. Her selfishness was astounding. Mia deserved better. I also wish there was a chance for Mia and Cricket to see their dad just so they could tell him off. He seemed like the kind of guy who would resurface when Cricket became famous in the soccer world. Overall this just didn't do it for me, but other people appear to love it.
