the sweetest and most innocent storytelling of a pre-teen Persian immigrant boy. you will laugh. you will cry. you will want to throw this book at a wall. but ultimately you will want to pick it back up and keep reading and never want the story to end.
i will be recommending this book to everyone. follow the trigger warnings, of course, but stories like these are so important for us to listen to!!! i’ve also hear that it’s great for audio listeners too—narrated by the author :)

Moderate: Bullying, Domestic abuse, Misogyny, Physical abuse, Racism, Xenophobia, Kidnapping, Injury/Injury detail, and Classism
Minor: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Body shaming, Death, Drug abuse, Gore, Infidelity, Religious bigotry, Murder, Cultural appropriation, and Abandonment
it is written in the context of a 11–14 year old boy, so in my opinion, it doesn’t contain graphic depictions of any triggering topics. others may feel differently though, and that’s okay!
