Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other
by Graham McTavish, Sam Heughan
I'm a huge fan of Outlander and I've been enjoying the show Men in Kilts, so naturally I decided to check out the book. I listened to the audio version and I honestly don't think the book would be the same if I had read it. I think you would misinterpret a lot of the jokes and sarcasm, plus it doesn't hurt to listen to someone with a Scottish accent read to you for 10 hours. I loved the historical aspect of the book, but some of the tangents they would go on got pretty boring, and they told the same jokes over and over and over. I started to lose interest in the book halfway through and only really stuck it out because I'm a big fan. If you aren't a fan of Outlander, don't bother with this book.
