adventurous challenging emotional reflective slow-paced

Was almost a DNF for me. It was so meandering and self-indulgent, I slogged to the end. I remembered watching the movie a few years ago and thought I’d wanted to read the story in her own words, but it was just frustrating to read about a trip that’s all about self-reflection with a protagonist that learns absolutely nothing on the way, doesn’t grow or change. *spoiler alert* the only thing she takes away is that it’s fine to be her selfish, reckless, and egotistical self.
I don’t rate it lower because she did accomplish quite a feat, but damn I wish I had invested my time in a better book.
