Review:
Thank you so much Mikayla for allowing me to read and share my thoughts!

I actually had my eye on this read for a while, the description sounded amazing, so when given the opportunity to read and review, I snapped this up! I really enjoyed The Couple on Holiday and The Christmas Holiday by Mikayla, so I was really looking forward to what was to come. I picked Boxing Day to read this too, the timing worked out perfectly!

Let’s start with the prologue, which definitely grabbed my attention and gave me a sense of anticipation for what was to come. As I began reading, I noticed how the author cleverly left me hanging at the end of some chapters, making it virtually impossible to put the book down due to the suspense.

The story is told through a few different perspectives, each of the characters having their own chapters which made this clear and easy to follow, but it meant we we’re able to get into each character’s head, which was really enjoyable. The story does also jump back to the past, again this is easy to follow and helps give you a clearer picture of why we are here today.

I was quite wary of every character which meant I struggled to warm to them, I was constantly questioning everyone's motives and everyone was a suspect, but this is cleverly done by the author because each character does have their own hidden motives, so I was right to keep them at arm's length.

The more I got deeper into the story, the more I could feel the atmosphere building, it really didn’t take long for me to be hooked in, which meant I struggled to put the book down as I was interested in seeing how it would all unfold.

There was so much drama in this read, it really did pack a punch with plenty to get your teeth stuck into. I loved the twists and turns and the curveball we were thrown at the end! The plot really did get thicker and thicker, and you were left wanting more!

This was an easy thriller to lose the day too and I’m really interested in knowing what would be next for the family!
