Tl;dr: Overall the book is worth a read if you want a cyberpunk Action book that portrays such a World perfectly and has a quick tempo. The characters are relatable and one can imagine something like this play out.
What is good/bad about this book?
-The pace is really quick, the action scenes are fun and the characters are loveable in their own way. All except one are also really relatable.
-The edginess coming from Albert really does hurt the quality of the book. He's a B tier nietzsche trying to make it seem like he's a machine and being a complete ass and never really showing any real human emotions.
-The scenes sometimes enter too abrupt
-some moments desperately needed more fleshing out.
-some plots lead nowhere which is bad in such a short book which AFAIK won't have any sequel (and it really can't have one)
What is the message of the book?
The message the book wants to convey is to appreciate the randomness of actions and events while they seem random they really are highly interwoven into each other.
It also shows that even through the biggest depression there can be light somewhere.
What are the Themes?
The book touches upon several themes some expanded really well some really surface level.
-What is it really to be human? Albert especially touched upon this question but really poorly as this question was posed through his edgelord glasses. "Oh what if I become THE PERFECT BEING" and while he is depicted as foolish and can be considered towards the end as "icarus who flew too close to the sun" he overall doesn't give the question any real help except for introducing it.
-Another theme was loss. All of the characters lost something and handle it differently. Some are apathetic, some revengeful some sorrowful but all show different sides of sorrow.
-lastly a theme of bonds was shown. We have two relationships forming in the book and one who is not interested in it at all. Bonds are portrayed as something making us better even when we don't realize they do. They Show how bonds can bring Routine, sense of security and a will to live again.
