It's been a while since the last time I devoured a book this fast.
This one is the 1st book in a duology. Careful, 2nd book isn't out yet I found out about that only after finishing the book.
It has an interesting ending that I saw coming, closing the book with it makes sense- it doesn't leave us angry, LOL.
The characters, plot, and chemistry are well done and delivered at the right pace.
I enjoyed the banter between the MMC and FMC, there is an understanding between them that seeps into their interactions and conversations.
It was one of my favorite things in the book. I loved their relationship even when they were still not 100 percent open they were trying to while keeping their walls up to protect themselves. which is something I find so relatable and understandable.
I feel that sometimes we allow ourselves to trust others only when they prove it to us or after it's too late.
we have two morally grey MCs that are so deep in the dark side. we have pirates and mercenaries that are rare for me to read about, which made me now more intrigued and curious to read more in this genre.
The blend between the genres is smooth and fresh.
