The Journey of the Noble Gnarble by Daniel Errico, illustrated by Tiffany Turril, published 2013 by Sky Pony

Age appropriate: 5+

Summary/Review: This is a delightful nonsense-rhyming book that follows the journey of a "noble gnarble" up to the surface of the sea. The gnarble is a brave little creature, determined to see the sun. He swims from the depths of the ocean and encounters many other creatures, some of which are dangerous! The illustrations are rich and vividly colored, adding a fun element to the underwater setting. In the end, the gnarble finally reaches the surface and sees the sun!

In a classroom: Good readloud - fun nonsense words; use when developing fluency and decoding to get used to nonsense words; bring out when learning about creatures under the sea
