Life on the Refrigerator Door
by Alice Kuipers
This is one of those books that was good, but I'm really happy I didn't buy. It's 220 pages, but most of them have only a line or two on them, which means it's not very substantial and I read it from cover to cover in about 45 minutes.
The entire book is told through notes that a mother and daughter leave for one another - most of them are brief (things like "hey mom, I'm babysitting tonight"), but some are pretty lengthy and get quite emotional/deep. Because of the really choppy writing style, I found it hard to get really invested in the story or into the characters lives. Is it bad? Not at all. Is it something I'd read again or recommend to anyone else? Probably not.
