One of my all-time favorites. I recommend this book to anyone I hear has not read it. My mom even loves this book and she pretty much detests SciFi ;)
There are so many layers to it, with discussions of what is the right thing to do in the time of war. So many moral dilemmas from the way the kids are treated in battle school to the morality of destroying an entire alien race.
Then there are the characters. Rich and nuanced, every one of them. Even the characters you hate you come to love because they’re so well written. I love books like this that you can come back to time and again for more revelations.
