Wow this was fantastic, and one of the best thriller’s I’ve ever listened to!
It’s told in three parts by the different characters, and then all tied up so brilliantly in the end. It’s very dark, but so good, throwing up all sorts of questions about morality, and keeping secrets from those you love, to keep them safe.
I felt so sorry and scared for Marianne when she saw her name on that hit list!! How terrifying would it be to see your name on the list like that?! As you can tell I was hooked and wanted to find out what Marianne was going to do next. What would I do next?
I didn’t like Sam the assassin, surprise, surprise! However as the plot  developed, I really warmed to them, especially as I learnt about their past and why they was doing what they was doing. I felt the same way about Greg, feeling very sorry for him in the end.
The plot was brilliant! How did the author keep all those strands going? How did she keep the characters separate and then bring it all seamlessly together in the end? I remember when I had an aha moment near the end and got really excited when I realised where part of the story was going!
The five narrators, Tuppence Middleton, Stephanie Racine, Perdita Weeks, Damian Lynch and Chris Reilly, were absolutely amazing at bringing their characters to life, adding so much more to this thriller. Their voices were distinct enough as well, so there was absolutely no mistaking who was who. That’s one of aspects I love about audiobooks, how the narrators make the characters truly come to life and jump off the page, or should that be off your device!
This is only the second book by Holly Seddon that I’ve read/listened to and I definitey want to go back and read her other books.
Highly recommended on audio if you enjoy dark thrillers and audiobooks with multiple narrators.
