Other than I remember from the first time I read this (in Dutch), this one is much better than House Atreides. I read it in English now. What I like most about this one is that the Houses and other power structures we get to know in Herberts universe aren't really that powerful here. They are all seeking to establish their positions, like a qualifying race if you will. There is a real sense of despair and clinging to old traditions and safeties that aren't there anymore that appeals to me.

Also, the annoying spelling mistakes are much scarcer than in House Atreides.
